HOLIDAY GIFT CARD DRIVE: Thank you to everyone who supported the recent drive from the Camden Rockport School Association to fund Hannaford Gift Cards for those impacted by interruptions in social services. If you have capacity, we also invite you to support the school's annual holiday gift card drive. This year, we have 22 families in need. We typically seek gift cards for Amazon, Hannaford, Walmart, Visa, MidCoast Recreation Center (MRC), Goodwill, Flagship Cinema, Reny's, Maine Sport Outfitters, or TJ Maxx/HomeGoods. Donations can be dropped off at the front desk or emailed to Jennifer

BREAKING BREAD: Sixth graders shared dishes meaningful to their family, coupled with narrative writing about their significance as part of the Story of Food PBL, led by Lacy Oakes and Karin Lockwood. Thank you also to our volunteer helpers!
STAGE CREW: As part of their fall study of community and crew, each fifth grade class put on a musical performance for peers and then again for families. Hats off to Allysa Anderson, who directed 8 performances in two days!

TOGETHER AS ONE: Congratulations to the winner and runners-up of the 2025 Camden Lions Club Peace Poster Contest, Maya, Julien, Ava, and Forest! The judges were really impressed and had a hard time selecting from among the entrie.
Field to Fork: Lacy Oakes and her team organized an amazing day of guest experts as part of the sixth grade interdisciplinary unit, the Story of Food.
Bike, Walk, Wheel: Nurse Gretchen Kuhn organized our community today to bike, walk, and wheel to school, and the rain subsided just in time. Thank you to all our volunteers and to the students and families for participating. It's great to start the day with lungs full of fresh air!
Life Like: Kristen Andersen's 7th graders created grid & shading drawings as part of the Learning to See PBL.
Science teacher Anne Hallee's 8th Grade students spent the morning at Camden Harbor kneedeep in Seaweed learning from the environment, their community-- including friends from Manomet Conservation Sciences, Penobscot Riverkeepers, UMaine Extension, and the Megunticook Watershed Association.
Learning to See: Acclaimed artist and world traveller Tim Christensen returns to CRMS for the 12th year in a row to help young scientists capture their natural observations in art as part of our interdisciplinary project-based unit, Learning to See.
Heals on Wheels: The Maine Oral Health & Wellness mobile dental clinic is booked solid today at CRMS.
Oregon Trail: Mr. Morse and Mrs. Young are leading 6th graders on a simulated journey across the Oregon Trail--without computers. Math, history, reading, and research are combined to bring learning to life.
Global Connection: Mr. Hamlin's class videoconferenced with our friend in Uganda, Timothy David Wambi, founder of Ajibu Community (https://ajibucommunity.org/) a non-profit devoted to increasing educational access and excellence.
A real lifesaver: CRMS staff getting trained in "8 Ways to Save a Life", a recurring course offered by CRMS staff and EMTs John Dietter and Ashley Meservey, and School Nurse Gretchen Kuhn.
True Grit. Our Character Counts banners are getting full already! This is one of the ways we recognize students who show exceptional Grit, Kindness, Responsibility, or Self-Control , which are our Core Values at CRMS.
Augmented Reality: These sharp students created original 3D models of planes and "flew" them in the main hallway.
