Hello!
Maine Oral Health & Wellness, is a mobile non profit oral wellness program that is based out of Camden.
My name is Kala Myers-French, and I am now an independently practicing dental hygienist in Camden at Balanced Dental Hygiene Suite. I started MOHW last summer with the mission to bridge gaps in oral healthcare, and provide comprehensive dental services.
How Our School-Based Mobile Dental Program Works
Our mobile dental clinic is a 32 ft modern and fully equipped dental office on wheels with two operatories. It is designed to provide convenient, private, high-quality care on-site but in a simple, minimally disruptive way ensuring that students receive essential dental services without barriers like transportation, cost, and increased lost class time. We pull the van up, plug in, and flip some switches to be in action.
Preventive & Routine Care – Exams, cleanings, fluoride treatments, and sealants to help prevent cavities.
Minimally Invasive Treatments – Silver diamine fluoride, Cervitec Varnish, or Curadont Peptide application for early cavity management, temporary fillings when needed, and restorative care provided by a staff dentist.
Flexible Scheduling & Minimal Disruption – We coordinate directly with schools to create a seamless, efficient care model.
Insurance & Sliding Scale Options – Accepting MaineCare, private insurance, cash and offering financial assistance through our expanded sliding scale to ensure no child is left out.
My goal is to put my community first so I wanted to offer the mobile program option to the Fivetowns District before I book other organizations and schools across Maine that have reached out. I have included my flyer and a couple of photos for you. Gretchen at CRMS and Sandy At Appleton can also offer their experience with us in 2024. We are always working to make improvements and will be hiring additional staff for the coming seasons to make care more streamlined.
I look forward to hearing from you!
Please see the flyer, and a couple of photos of the van.
