COURSE/SUBJECT TITLE: Sixth Grade Mathematics
LENGTH OF TIME: Full Year (60/65 minutes every day)
COURSE DESCRIPTION: Students in grade 6 finish the final year of the EveryDay Math program. This curriculum develops four mathematical strands: Number & Operation, Geometry & Measurement, Data Analysis & Probability, and Algebra. The primary focus of the sixth grade year is on rational numbers and an introduction to understanding algebraic equations. The Everyday Math program uses an instrumental approach that revisits topics regularly through activities that explore a wide variety of mathematical content to ensure full concept development.
